Position Summary:

Segue Technologies, Inc. seeks a Technical Support Specialist to perform a variety of duties in supporting the Air Force Reliability and Maintainability Information System (REMIS) project. The Technical Support Specialist supports both REMIS Enterprise production and development environments. The is a full-time, contingent position, located at Northrop Grumman facility, Beavercreek, OH. 1st shift, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, and 2nd shift, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM, available. Occasional Saturday required.

Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Operate REMIS Enterprise (Unix, Linux, and Windows) in a large heterogeneous computing environment
  • Operate computer systems to include the computer console, related communications and peripheral components
  • Initiate the processing of programs by entering operating systems commands through the main computer console and network PC’s
  • Load appropriate tapes and disk units for daily system backups
  • Reassign processing system components as necessary to maintain a steady flow of work through the system
  • Monitor telecommunications and file transfer capabilities for transmission and initiates corrective actions, as appropriate
  • Perform level 1 and 2 customers support
  • Monitor and executes batch processing
  • Apply standard corrective measures to system and equipment discrepancies
  • Maintain records on work performed and prepares a variety of reports in accordance with established procedures
  • Create and updates Operations Wiki procedures as required and publishes
  • Troubleshoot, errors, problems or adverse conditions frequently within the work environment, using available tools to capture errors and background information
  • Coordinate with internal Northrop support and Air Force support for problem resolution
  • Coordinate with all interfacing systems maintaining a steady workflow
  • Additional tasks as required

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT Systems, Engineering or another technical field, or related major. Relevant technical experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree
  • Knowledge of electronic data processing, communication principles and operating techniques
  • Basic system functions and designs experience
  • Knowledge of computer operating practices, including record keeping, and the ability to maintain a steady workflow through the computer system
  • Knowledge of storage media library procedures and operational inventory control
  • Must be able follow complex oral and written instructions
  • Must be able to support a 24x7 x365 shift coverage environment
  • Able to work independently and identify solutions to complex problems
  • Able to obtain IAT Certification (Security+, Network+, A+ or CASP) within 6 months of hire
  • Active Secret Clearance
