Job Description

Location of the client : San Francisco ,
Duration : Min 6 months

This position has the responsibility to install, configure, tune and maintain large implementation of Splunk. From time to time, following internal training,
you’ll be asked to help support company-adopted tools like Foglight, Puppet, Cobbler, Silivertail.
· Design, implement and maintain a Splunk log collection solution for a variety of internal teams Support existing Splunk infrastructure
· Assist in developing processes and procedures associated with log collection.
· Manage problems, maintain vendor relationships, and assist operation with vendor escalation and issue resolution.
· Maintain and analyze solution to ensure proper capacity, manageability and usability.
· Insure accurate reporting for auditing for internal customers.
· Assist in identifying source inputs for monitoring, investigating, and analyzing computer network intrusions and integration into Enterprise Security application within Splunk.
· Assist business owners to gather and interpret user/system requirements; then developing those requirements into content specifications, collectors, filters, dashboards, and reports.
· Strong understanding of XML; text parsing and client server models.
· CentOS, Solaris, Windows experience is a must
· Ability to troubleshoot and identify network communication issues.
· Ability to handle on-call duties in a 24x7 environment.
· Ability to work independently; completing required tasks with minimum supervision
· Ability to maintain and improve skills; perform independent research
· Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
· Ability to effectively communicate with coworkers, peers, and management through written and verbal communication.
· Ability to communicate with customers, internal departments, and other outside parties in a professional manner.
· Ability to communicate effectively with business analysts, developers, and quality assurance staff in the resolution of technical problems.
