Title: Sr. UNIX Systems Administrator
Location: Sarasota, FL
Job Type: Permanent Position
Job Requirements:
This Position Is Responsible For Providing Leadership To The UNIX Administration Team On The Development, Implementation, Maintenance, Administration, And Monitoring Of UNIX-Based Servers In A Multi-Site Environment. This Includes Oversight And Management Of Projects And Tasks Impacting The UNIX Administration Team.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Manages The Day To Day Activities Of The UNIX Team Including The Installation, Configuration, And Support Of Our UNIX Based Systems And Associated Applications.
  • Serves As The Key Internal Knowledge Expert For UNIX Administration.
  • Provides Coaching And Mentoring To The UNIX Team To Ensure Best Practices And Standards Are Followed And Team Members Continue To Grow In Their Knowledge Of UNIX Administration And Associated Technologies.
  • Coordinates UNIX System Maintenance Activities Such As Upgrades And Patches As Necessary To Support Business Requirements And Operations Schedules.
  • Collaborates With Other IT Infrastructure Team Leads And Staff To Facilitate Problem Resolution, Project Definition And Completion, And Consistency And Compliance To Departmental Standards And Policies.
  • Ensures Appropriate Tools Are In Place To Streamline UNIX Administration And Facilitate Real-Time System Monitoring, Performance Tuning, And Capacity Planning.
  • Ensures The Security And Integrity Of Our UNIX Systems Is Maintained Through Application Of Appropriate Security Mechanisms And Adherence To Security Best Practices.
  • Ensures System Documentation Is Created And Maintained Including Operational Procedures.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree In Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Or Related Field Required.
  • Minimum Of 9 Years Experience In UNIX Server Administration.
  • At Least 5 Years Experience Supporting A Redhat Linux Environment.
  • MUST Have Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Or Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) Industry Experience.
  • Extensive Experience With RHEL Server Design, Administration And Troubleshooting.
  • Experience With Server Deployment And Management Using VMWare ESX.
  • Experience Configuring And Supporting Various Applications On Redhat Linux Including Apache, Tomcat, OpenSSL, Etc.
  • Experience With Networking Protocols And Applications Such As DNS, SMTP, SNMP, SSH, SSL, FTP, SCP, Etc.
  • Experience Configuring And Using Server Monitoring Tools. Nagios Experience A Plus.
  • Working Knowledge Of Oracle Databases Operating On Redhat Linux.
  • Experience Administering And Supporting LDAP.
  • Background Working With EXT3/4, NFS3/4, ISCSI, VXFS, And LVM Including Raid Level Concepts, Storage Performance, And Optimization.
  • Experience Designing And Troubleshooting Clustered Environments. Veritas Cluster Or OCS/RAC A Plus.
  • Experience Supporting Oracle E-Business Related Applications Including WMS, SOA Suite, Demantra, OBIEE, And Weblogic Running On Redhat Linux Desired.
  • MUST Have Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Or Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) Industry Experience.
