Solarwinds administrator/Architect in Houston, Texas
: Houston, TX, USA

I Hope you are doing great. I am looking the candidate for below mentioned post. Do you have interest kindly let me know ASAP.
Position: Solarwinds administrator/Architect
Work Location: Houston, Texas
Job type - Contract
Dependencies – Site Hierarchy for monitoring and alert suppression when the main network point goes offline
Provide a framework with examples of 2 or 3 sites/locations showing dependencies of infrastructure nodes for alerts purposes. For example (Router -> Switches -> Servers) … if the Router goes down, we don’t want Alert Notifications for all Switches and Servers downstream.
Maps – Auto Placement of nodes on the global map based on location so that at all times our Maps are up to date MIBs – UPS, Switches, etc.
The variety of UPS’, Switches and other equipment being monitored each require that different MIBs be setup individually. This would allow for a more accurate representation of what elements are affecting what devices.
Discovery – Auto discovery of network gear so that we are not missing out on monitoring key items
To help configure our auto discovery so that nothing is missed, but also so that we are not flooding the network with traffic that could be avoided.
Reports – Daily up time reporting excluding everything less than 100%
Along with the specific request for up-time monitoring, there are likely to be other reports that can be setup/delivered to show a trend of network activity.
SAN monitoring – Is this an option within SolarWinds that we have available to us
We have a large SAN environment that is not being captured currently in SolarWinds and we have not been advised that this is possible without buying more of SolarWinds products. I would like to see if an independent third party has been able to configure SolarWinds in such a way that would allow us to capture this data.
IPAM – Any configuration within IPAM to have consistency from ServiceNow
Develop a way for IPAM and ServiceNow to interact with each other so that the source of truth (ServiceNow) reflects accurately within IPAM.
Best Practices – Some best practices that you have seen that we can implement
Third party validation of best practices that we can put in place to sustain and build out what we currently have in place.
