ResponsibilitiesOur Purchasing Team is seeking a Category Manager aligned primarily to the telecommunications category to join our fun and collaborative team and work strategically with business partners across the organization. This highly visible position provides the opportunity to work directly with leadership roles across the company to achieve expense management objectives and work with industry leading technologies to deliver cost effective services to our customers. You would be responsible for developing procurement strategies for large technology acquisitions that require long term vision and the ability to achieve short term objectives on tight timelines. In addition, you would be a resource and leader in a department involved in many high impact enterprise initiatives.  Does this sound like a place you can add value? If so, come join our dynamic and dedicated team where you can help make a difference to State Farm!Work across multiple departments to develop both long and short term procurement strategies for telecommunications network services.Achieve and maintain a high level of subject matter expertise to allow for a consultative approach to leading large procurement efforts.Mentor Purchasing team members on technology, procurement strategies, and navigating multi-department projects. Work closely with outside Market Intelligence sources to understand telephony technology life cycles, rate trends, and regulatory issues. Qualifications2-4 Years of technology procurement experience.A strong understanding of telephony technologies including network infrastructure, cellular, and wireline telecommunications networks.Ability to understand and analyze the shifting landscape of network vendors and technologies. Demonstrated ability to manage large projects and achieving stated objectives.Experience working across multiple departments.Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with key business partners.Excellent communications skills.Additional information:  This is a hybrid role which means you will work in the Bloomington office at least 4-5 times per month (as the business needs dictate), with the balance worked remotely.
