Technical Skills: SAP GL Functional Analyst
This position is for an SAP Functional Analyst (GL). The SAP Functional Analyst is responsible for the analysis, planning, design, development, and delivery of SAP ECC 6.0 solutions.
The analyst will provide expertise in all aspects of SAP’s FI and CO modules as well as work with the integration points with accounts payable, accounts receivable and fixed assets.
This position will be responsible to configure standard SAP features as well as develop add-on functionality as needed.
The selected candidate will work directly with business representatives and process owners to define requirements and the subsequent solutions.
Duties & Responsibilities The SAP functional analyst is expected to be an expert in General Ledger and have expertise in AP, AR and FA modules with a good understanding of SAP CO module and its components.
Work directly with various clients at all different levels to guide complex projects. Designing, developing, and testing SAP functions.
Design, configure, and test core FI/CO modules.
Design, develop, and support data migrations, technical interfaces, all reporting requirements, etc.
Write/Develop detail technical specifications for development activities for SAP modules and interface programs.
Analyze user requirements.
Analyze and provide recommended solutions to users and management for requested system and process changes.
Develop and maintain the configuration and functional design documents and support role based profile changes for the FI/CO module.
Perform appropriate analysis on the impacts of any changes to the SAP production system partnering with SAP production support team to analyze and resolve issues.
Document, maintain and update system-level customizations as well as training documentation.
Prepare test scenarios and write test cases.
Perform end to end testing.
Work closely with program and project management teams in requirements and testing phase to understand business testing requirements, translate these needs into system requirements.
Participate in resolution of production problems.
Act as an SAP FI analyst resource supporting System Integration Test, User Acceptance Test, data conversion testing, implementation, and Go-Live support.
Additional responsibilities include batch processing of SAP GL batch interface files, perform GL PC uploads, process outbound extracts, prepare test environments based on project requirements, resolve testing defects, writing of manual scripts.
B.S. or B.A. in Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. Will consider associate degree if candidate has 6+ years of SAP experience in the role of SAP FICO analyst.
At least 6+ years of experience with SAP application support and 5+ years of direct SAP FICO configuration.
6+ years in IT software development
6+ years of experience with SAP ABAP/4
Strong ABAP Skills including but not limited to Reporting, Data Dictionary, Screen Painter, Menu Painter, transactions, dialog programs, batch input, user interface and screens, user exit enhancements and conversions
Multiple full cycle SAP implementations
Action oriented. Strong analytical and problem solving skills; experience in both process and solution analysis & design
Ability to articulate change implications for any process or system solution to any level in the business organization (from user to senior management).
Proficient in effectively communicating to a wide range of audiences in both written and oral form.
Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask effectively in a fast paced environment.
Must be able to work with a moderate level of ambiguity.

Experience interfacing SAP with external systems; Business Data Warehouses, Ariba, Hyperion, Vertex
Experienced in ALE / EDI / IDOC's / RFC's / BAPI's
