Job Description

Position Summary:

Segue Technologies seeks a Project Manager with some Business Development experience to manage existing projects and support the pursuit of new business opportunities with the DoD and Federal Government. This individual will manage existing projects and oversee execution of projects and partnerships while participating as a key member our organization. This individual will also provide assistance in identifying new opportunities, responding to solicitations while managing existing projects. This is a full-time position located at Segue’s HQ, Arlington VA.

 

Segue is a small Information Technology business based out of Arlington, VA. We provide full life cycle application development and tailored system sustainment to Federal, Non-profit, and Commercial organizations. Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Project Manager tasks:

1.       Serve as the Project Manager for existing contracts and work directly with the Contracting Officer and Contracting Officer Representative to coordinate the delivery of all Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) exercised under the project

2.       Maintain a project schedule with tasks assigned to all the different positions under this project

3.       Assign tasks based on the project priorities

4.       Communicate project status to customers and internal stakeholders to maintain high levels of project performance

5.       Leverage project management and team leadership skills to help drive projects from concept to completion

6.       Oversee review of project deliverables and ensure quality meets or exceeds customer expectations

7.       Maintain contract costs, performance and schedule requirements

8.       Manage overall contract performance and understand the needs and customer expectations to ensure customer satisfaction

9.       Ensure quality product development and support

10.   Projects shall be managed in accordance with industry best practices (e.g. the Project Management Institute’s Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)) and pertinent government procedures at the detail level commensurate with the scope and criticality of the project, arranged with the COR

11.   Additional tasks as required

Business Development tasks:

1.       Understanding of new opportunity contract documents such as RFI, Sources Sought, RFP, SOW and PWS

2.       Build and maintain an extensive knowledge of the current market conditions by identifying business opportunities, conducting environmental scanning and market evaluation

3.       Work with the project teams and SME’s to develop, write and edit technical responses 

4.       Support business development efforts, including leading and supporting proposal responses as needed

5.       Identify areas of growth with key customer accounts

6.       Additional tasks as required

 

Required Skills:

·         Bachelor's degree in IT Systems, Engineering, or other technical field and a minimum of 5 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience

·         5+ years’ experience in management supporting IT Projects

·         Previous Business Development experience similar to the duties above

·         Experience providing oversight of small to medium, multi-functional project teams in a web technology-based environment for Federal and DOD customers

·         Experience in coordinating with Senior Executive Management and key senior staff members

·         Experience managing a large team of technical and programmatic personnel, managing program cost and resources

·         Ability to develop and deliver progress/status reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations

·         Experience using process improvement methodologies and disciplines to lead and manage process improvement initiatives

·         Experience working with the customer to identify new opportunities to grow existing work

·         Experience providing briefings to Senior Management

·         Excellent written and oral communications skills

·         Ability to review and respond to new opportunity documents such as an RFI, Sources Sought, RFP and PWS

·         Ability to obtain and maintain a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

·         Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level Clearance

 

Desired Skills:

·         DOD issued Secret level clearance or higher

·         Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

·         Working with software development projects, particularly Agile development project work

·         Past experience writing proposal responses and developing solutions to meet the desired evaluation criteria listed in section M of an RFP
