Your Skills:

  • Disassembles various types of equipment and machinery common to maritime vessels and/or general industry including but not limited to pumps, valves, winches, gearboxes
  • Assists in determining repairs that are required to bring equipment to "like new" status
  • Responsible for the application and care of all standard shop measuring and hand tools
  • Properly cares for and safely uses hand and power tools and all company property
  • Overhaul, maintenance, testing of pumps, anchor windless's and capstans, hydraulic deck cranes and davits, hydraulic controlled passerelles and gangways, bow thrusters, steering systems, stabilizers.
  • proficient in troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic systems to include identifying various metric and imperial connections and fittings, HPU's, various types of control valves, hydraulic cylinders and actuators.
  • Set up and operate portable machining tools and equipment
  • proficient in reading and understanding hydraulic schematics/drawings.
  • proficient with shipboard rigging process's and procedures to safely remove heavy equipment form within the ships engine room and auxiliary spaces
  • Must be able to pass drug and background tests.
