Job Description

Job Title: Door / GMT Technician IV

Location: Aurora, IL

Type: 6 months Contract


Job Summary:

  • This maintenance mechanic is responsible for providing an advanced level of expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and providing preventive and corrective maintenance on the facility mechanical equipment and systems and able to use prints to maintain and repair general equipment and doors.
  • Must be self-directed have the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot pumps, motors, bearings, sheaves, ventilation equipment, fans, rooftop AHU’s, air compressors, overhead doors, etc. in an industrial environment. Strong mechanical skills, including working safely with all equipment is required, Must demonstrate good written and verbal communication.
  • This position also performs a variety of duties related to handling, moving, and controlling materials that are identified as Hazardous Materials. Uses forklifts and other material handling equipment to transport materials on site. Completes the required documentation and physical preparation for storage and/or shipping of both regulated and non-regulated hazardous materials, according to established procedures and appropriate regulations.
  • The Mechanical Maintenance Technician IV must have the ability to identify and correct any safety-related issues and perform independent equipment evaluations to identify potential equipment failures. General Maintenance of equipment will also be required.


  • Troubleshoots and repairs blowers and fans.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs heat exchange equipment.
  • Performs basic pipefitting repairs.
  • Welding skills a plus.
  • Troubleshoot and repair overhead doors.
  • Conducts preventive maintenance inspections and performs required preventive maintenance actions such as lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, etc.
  • Communicates noncompliance concerns to ensure corrective actions have taken place.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on mechanical systems control and operating systems as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Replace motors, bearings, sheaves, shafts, etc.
  • Responds and provides service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations and industry standards.
  • Recommends measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems
  • Understands company policies and enforces safety regulations.
  • Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lock-out/tag-out procedures and wearing PPE as required.
  • Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers and diagnostic hardware to perform work.
  • Maintains a strict schedule in order to be successful in the assignment, yet demonstrates flexibility in the day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer.
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.
  • Within CLIENT, our group provides facilities and production maintenance services for our clients’ industrial, manufacturing, distribution, pharmaceutical, and commercial sites worldwide.
  • We run our own crews of Production Maintenance Techs, CNC Service Techs, Automation Techs, Industrial Electricians, Maintenance Mechanics, Industrial HVAC Techs, Logistics / Crib Management, Planner/ Schedulers, Supervisors and safety professionals inside our customers’ facilities to keep their infrastructure operating smoothly.


Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
  • Five years of experience performing mechanical maintenance in an industrial environment, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have the ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher.

Other Attributes:

  • Must be willing to work overtime when required. May be required to work holidays and weekends.
