Description: Develops and evaluates metrology calibration systems that measure characteristics of objects, substances, or phenomena, such as length, mass, time, temperature, electric current, luminous intensity, and derived units of physical or chemical measure. Identifies magnitude of error sources contributing to uncertainty of results to determine reliability of measurement process in quantitative terms. Develops calibration methods and techniques based on principles of measurement science, technical analysis of measurement problems and accuracy and precision requirements. Requirements
Title will be Lab Assistant II, Site Operations. Focus will be on facilitating install, qualification, maintenance, and calibration program of equipment at Skokie site. No direct calibration metrology per se, but will be responsible for facilitating, coordinate external vendors for that calibration. Potentially working with procurement to get contracts in place. Reviews calibration certificates, log books at end of quarter. Degree – bachelor's preferred, HS/GED could work. Quickly communicates any issues with equipment malfunction. Fridge, freezer, centrifuge, water baths, lab equipment. GLP, prior lab tech experience a plus.
