Sierra-Cedar’s Justice & Public Safety practice is seeking skilled Business Analysts to join our team. We have 30 years of experience delivering projects based on leading technologies which help JPS entities increase operational performance through improved processes. As a recognized leader in JPS System Integration throughout the country, we provide solutions for a wide range of JPS agencies including law enforcement, jail, prosecution, courts, public defender, and probation agencies.
We offer a flexible work environment, with services being performed either at the client site or from your home office. This position may require up to 50% travel to the client site, depending on the client and project requirements.
As a Business Analyst, you should be knowledgeable of methods and techniques for business analysis, in a software consulting environment, and demonstrate your ability to implement application software that solves business problems. You will work effectively and efficiently, both independently and as a team member, and be adaptable and resourceful, with a tailored approach to fit different client cultures.
Work with various end users to understand and document their current business operations, system requirements and workflows, and identify business process improvements
Facilitate requirements gathering work sessions and document findings into a traceability matrix
Conduct Fit/Gap analyses between current business processes and application packages
Design custom application screen mockups, prototyping and design documentation and reports based on client needs
Collaborate with our development team to successfully implement our solution
Develop and deliver training to end users
5+ years’ experience in business analysis and business process change for information systems development
Degree in Business, Computer Science or related field
Proven record of achievement in project driven environments
Demonstrated written communication skills in the form of business process and system requirement documents
Proficient with Microsoft Office and Visio
Ability to travel 50%
Public Sector/Justice & Public Safety consulting experience
Knowledge/experience with UML models and notations
Integration experience, including designing, supporting and standards
Training and/or testing experience
