Please respond to the following criteria: Software Development Engineering in Test (SDET) Scope:  

  • Build and execute automated functional test plans both for deployment and monitoring.
  • Plan, develop, and debug tools and automation tests for new projects and content.
  • Design, develop, debug, and update automated functionality tests for current projects.
  • Implement efficient automation testing using test tools such as JMeter and Testcomplete.
  • Communicate with QA team to develop tools, commands, and utilities that increase the efficiency of the QA process.
  • Perform team code reviews and architecture reviews and provide mentoring and code feedback to junior engineers.
  • Build and justify test plans for automated testing based on probability, coverage and impact.

 

 

  • Communicate clearly and concisely with team members, justifying test plan choices based on probability, impact, statistics, etc.
  • Clearly and concisely communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders across all levels of the organization.

2.1.1. Technical Evaluation:  

2.1.1.1. Level of Expertise in Required Skill Set:   

2.1.1.1.1. Must have experience building maintainable and efficient tests using tools such as Selenium, JMeter, and MStest.

2.1.1.1.2. Must have experience with scripting in one or more languages.

2.1.1.1.3. Must have experience with automated test tools and frameworks.

2.1.1.1.4. Must demonstrate strong technical leadership in designing and implementing test automation.

2.1.1.1.5. Must have customer service oriented attitude and top-notch time management.

2.1.1.1.6. Must have a solid understanding of the software development life-cycle and Agile methodologies.

2.1.1.1.7. Must have experience with developing test tools and test automation from scratch or implementing open source solutions.

2.1.1.1.8. Must have demonstrated ability with Object-Oriented Design and coding skills.

2.1.1.1.9. Must have proficiency in driving technical and process improvements.

2.1.1.1.10. Must have knowledge of QA best practices and how to create processes to drive quality in a product.

2.1.1.2. Level of Expertise in Desired Skill Set:

2.1.1.2.1. Familiarity with SQL, performance tools, PowerShell scripts and version control systems such as Git are also a plus.

2.1.1.2.2. Experience working with mobile and web are a plus. 2.1.1.3. Mandatory Requirements:  

2.1.1.3.1. Must be a United States Citizen.

2.1.1.3.2. Must be able to obtain a HSPD-12 (Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12) badge within 6 months of starting position.

2.1.1.3.3. Must work at the Idaho National Laboratory location (no remote work under this procurement).
