Field Tech Support to perform on-site services at different locations throughout Broward County to support the efforts of Broward County departmental staff. Services shall include, but not be limited to, replacements, installations and moving of hardware (up to 70 pounds) and/or installation of software on County PCs, Notebooks, Laptops, Tablets and Smart Phones within a local area network. Troubleshoot, diagnose and correct application and operating system software problems including peripheral related issues and/or hardware problems (Workstations, Tablets, Notebooks, Laptops, Printers, Mobile devices, etc.) in response to requests or direction provided by the responsible agency or department.
The County’s 5,000-workstation environment encompasses Windows 10 and includes stand-alone and networked PCs. New installations involve Windows 10 in a Microsoft Active Directory environment. County standard applications include Microsoft Office 2016 suite, SharePoint, hosted application configurations, and miscellaneous agency specific applications. Peripheral devices include stand-alone and networked scanners, copiers, and printers as well as a variety of USB connected devices.
Qualifications/ Experience: Must have at least the following experience:
Three (3) years’ experience with installation, troubleshooting and support of PC hardware and software with at least one (1) year in a LAN/WAN Enterprise environment.
Evidence of one or more of the following is required: Microsoft certifications, CompTIA certifications and/or extended years of experience, or a combination thereof. (A college degree from an accredited institution or United States Military technical training in computer science or related field will satisfy certification requirements).
Installation of a PC in a Lan/Wan environment including, Windows 10, Microsoft Office 2016, and associated peripheral software.
Onsite normal work hours at the County shall be from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, will include two (2) fifteen (15) minute breaks (paid) and a 30-minute lunch break (unpaid).
Services may be required at other times during the week such as flexible start times or weekends for departmental needs or functions as necessary.
