Job Description:

Essential Job Functions 
  • Codes, tests, debugs, implements, and documents basic programs. Assists in the modification of company products and/or customer/internal systems to meet the needs of the client and/or end-user. 
  • Assists in the research and analysis of existing systems and program requirements; assists in preparing documentation to change existing programs. Performs data analysis to support internal and external project needs. 
  • Designs basic programs for projects or enhancements to existing programs. 
  • Writes specifications for programs of low to moderate complexity. 
  • Assists in resolving routine production support problems. 
  • Assists in the completion of unit testing by preparing test data, running tests and evaluating results. Develops screen tests and debugging problems. Develops test plans to verify logic of new or modified programs. 
  • Creates basic documentation in work assignments such as program code. 
  • Conducts routine quality assurance activities such as peer reviews. 
    • Remains abreast of and researches industry technical trends and new development to maintain current skills and remain current with industry standards. 

Job Requirements:

Basic Qualifications 
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics or related field preferred 
  • Zero years of experience in programming or testing 
  • Experience working in a student employment program or related experience 
  • Experience working with appropriate programming languages, operating systems and software 
  • Experience working with relational databases to facilitate programming software 
Other Qualifications 
  • 4 years experience with WebSphere Message Broker, WebSphere Application server, WebSphere MQ, and Process Server. 
  • 3-4 years experience with Datapower and SOA technologies 
  • 2-4 years experience with Apache/Tomcat web servers 
  • 4 years experience with Web Services, SOAP, and UDDI on JAVA & .Net platforms. 
  • 4 years experience with LDAP or integrating with LDAP 
  • 4 years J2EE/JEE, JDBC, JNDI, JAXP, JAAS and JMS experience 
  • Provide technology leadership in Datapower, WebSphere Application Server, Process Server, MQ, LDAP, Siteminder and other Middleware technologies on various Operating Systems (Unix, Linux, Windows etc.) used at client. 
  • Develop roadmap and enhance processes to be used by Middleware engineering and interaction with various groups. 
  • Work on standards, guidelines, and procedures for various Middleware technologies. 
  • Provide input to project planning, estimation, budget, resource, and technology planning 
  • Publish and present technology standards and roadmaps 
  • Expertise in performance tuning, deployments and troubleshooting 
  • Experience of working with IBM on PMRs 
  • Prefer candidates with strong scripting skills including UNIX shell, Perl, Jython, WSadmin and batch. 
  • Candidate should have performed in an engineering and support role for a technical discipline
  • Experience working with open source products in addition to commercial products is a plus. 
  • This role specifically addresses the software infrastructure needs of these applications, and will be responsible for the design and build-out of new systems, followed by the migration of applications into these new systems. 
  • Specifically this engineer is expected to provide engineering assistance and configuration administration for MQ Server, IBM Datapower, IBM Websphere, MQ broker, Apache and related technologies. 
  • The role requires deep experience with Websphere, MQ messaging, and web services - especially with both engineering and troubleshooting. 
  • An emphasis on re-use of established infrastructure patterns and consolidation of like technologies is to be expected. This is highly demanding role, which requires constant interaction with developers, architects, project managers.
