Job Description:

Role: Deskside Support Engineer
Location: Quincy, MA
Duration: Long-term
 
Description:
  • Provides primary support to Executive users
  • Assists customer end users and current staff with technical support of desktop and laptop computers, applications and related technology.
  • Provides hardware break/fix support and warranty support for current desktop/laptop/workstation devices
  • Installation, and testing of computer systems and peripherals within established standards and guidelines
  • Application software and operating systems support to diagnose and resolve unique, non-recurring problems
  • Reimages systems as required.
  • Understanding of IT services
  • Provides Smart Hands support to L1 and L2 support teams
  • Works with SMEs to provide extension of hands and feet support as required
  • Provides basic support for PDAs, Blackberry’s and printers
  • Provides equipment move services
  • Recommends and / or performs upgrades on systems to ensure longevity.
  • Works with procurement staff to purchase hardware and software.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Desired Experience:
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Strong Microsoft operating System installation and troubleshooting skills
  • Must have a sense of urgency and the ability to comprehend SLA’s and in scope work
  • Strong Break / Fix skills Desktops, Workstations, Notebooks and Printers
  • Broad experience of IT with basic understanding of  Networks, Intel Servers and Telecoms
  • Unix first level troubleshooting and software loading
  • Ability to provide consistent, excellent customer support to entire staff, representing a variety of personalities and management levels including executive
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good time management skills and the ability to work independently if needed
  • Must be detail oriented and self-motivating
  • Background security check required
  • Experience performing remote control of PCs and video conferencing knowledge
