Job Description:

Seeking a Business Analyst for a contract to hire job in McLean, VA. 

Position Overview: The Business Analysis Senior will work on issues/requests of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends, familiarity with database architecture and data management best practices, reporting, analytics, and BI tools. The position will primarily support one or more projects with the goal of providing a comprehensive data management and reporting/analytics capability for integration with multiple customer facing applications. 

Responsibilities Include: 
•Gathering, documenting and communicating requirements 
•Interfacing with business partners, customers, and technical partners 
•Ensuring alignment of business/customer need with technical solution 
•Coordinating and participating in user acceptance testing 
•Providing status updates to projects leads and managers 
•Designing dashboards and operational reports 
•Ensuring data is properly captured and integrated between source and target 

Basic Requirements: 
•Bachelor’s degree 
•4-6 years of related experience 
•Proficiency in MS Office tools, DOORs, HPQC 
•Proficiency in database query languages such as SQL, SAS, R 
•Strong background in data architecture and data management best practices 
•Familiarity with BI tools 
•Experience creating operational reports 
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
•Experience with SDLC and Agile development methodologies 
•Ability to multitask and support multiple assignments 
•Strong organizational and analytical skills 
•Attention to detail is a MUST 
•Ability to effectively communicate requirements in both business and technical terms 
•Ability to listen to business users, convey ideas effectively, and prepare written technical documentation 
•Experience creating test plans and conducting user acceptance testing 
•Ability to work across teams and departments to resolve issues 

Preferred Skills: 
•Graduate degree or advanced studies 
•Knowledge of mortgage industry terminology 
•Familiarity with the FRE environment and systems
