Job Description:
  • Required 5- 7 years’ experience in any flavors of UNIX, configuration, monitoring and administration.
  • Strong aptitude and ability for problem solving.
  • Excellent communications skills – both oral and written and professional phone email and chat etiquette.
  • Must be able to work in rotating shifts and customer specified calendar/holidays.
  • Should have a valid passport and willing to travel as per business requirements. Technical Skills Requirements
Mandatory Skills:
  • Relevant Knowledge on enterprise grade ticketing tools and in a 24x7 environment using the ITIL practices.
  • Relevant knowledge of different flavors of UNIX, architecture, file system, etc.
  • Relevant experience of configuration, administration and troubleshooting on any UNIX Flavors o Hands on    diagnose issues from system, configuration and log files.
  • Relevant experience of networking, application servers, database servers, security tools, and firewall.
  • Relevant knowledge on patching, performance tuning, capacity planning, etc.
  • Sound knowledge in High Availability o Leadership skills o Good Root cause analysis Skills o Performance Troubleshooting Skills o Incident/Change/Problem Management Skills
  • Desirable Skills o Certification in RHCE is desirable.
  • Automation of Admin tasks using Shell Scripting / Perl Scripts o DBA knowledge
  • Scripting knowledge such as VB Scripts, Perl, etc will be an added advantage
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills coupled with a strong interest in Systems, Applications and Network management.
  • Shell scripting for UNIX system's performance monitoring Characteristics that will make you successful
  • Self-learner able to prioritize customer needs and respond accordingly.
  • Self-motivated, ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Outstanding organizational as well as written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge sharing, team building activities, creating a lively work atmosphere.
  • Strong tools/ applications learning skills are necessary.
