e primary function of the Media Buyer is to purchase and negotiate media across various categories; radio, television, print, out of home, etc. The Media Buyer will work directly with the Account Executive and Senior Buyer to execute each media plans. The Media Buyer is responsible for acquiring desirable time slots and media space. The Media Buyer will need to form good relationships with advertising vendors to obtain the best prices and values for advertisement placements and/or campaigns. The Media Buyer will also monitor the purchased media to make sure the advertisements appear as planned and deliver the expected performance and/or value.
Negotiate and secure media schedules/placements across a variety of media types
Handle make good processes
Prepare and post analysis for media Broadcast schedules (Radio, TV, Cable)
Reconcile account billing
Develop annual media plans
Steward media buys (including trafficking) and coordinate creative/copy
Work with Account Executive to ensure plans are executed in a timely manner
Maintain contacts and relationships with vendors
Assist in advertising research pertaining to market
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Advertising/Communications, preferred
4 years media buying experience in an in-house advertising or agency setting, required
Working knowledge of SmartPlus or other media buying software and marketing research tools, preferred
Strong negotiating skills. Negotiate and secure media and promotional elements with media vendors in multiple markets and mediums.
