Direct Procurement Business Partner

Procurement of materials used for the production and/or required by the Business on time, cost efficiently and meeting client’s needs.
Managing the purchasing process including competitive tendering, negotiating contracts , implementation and cut over
Develop, agree and implement KPIs for suppliers, service levels and supplier management
To provide local market knowledge/intelligence/expertise for components within the portfolio to stakeholder and other country, regional and global category managers.
Participate as an active member in Regional sourcing team initiatives
Freedom to travel within and outside APAC Region. Not to exceed 30%
Develop and implement Grower relationship management program including the development of performance criteria, tracking methodology and customized offer together with relevant stakeholders (Field production, Production and Processing technology and Quality)
Implement the sourcing strategy of Seed (Corn & Rice) in country, which is defined by region category lead
Co-ordinate and lead the cross functional Grower contract related sourcing team to secure seed supply at optimal cost.
Lead in negotiating the best possible prices for Corn and Rice seed purchases and maintains contractual service agreement with the country and region supply team
Explore and identify the cost optimization opportunities and deliver the saving and cost avoidance target in any other category (Packaging and tolling)
Communicate, and deploy sourcing agreement throughout country team. The process will require significant buy-in among multi-functions such as productions and planning.
Identify potential strategic suppliers in all the major categories and lead cross functional teams to negotiate master agreements. These master agreements need to ensure competitive pricing down stream
Manage strategic supplier performance and relationships. Develop and implement supplier quality management program(s). Ensure continuous improvement and encouragement of innovative ideas.
Negotiate contracts and maintain day to day relationships with suppliers, including establishing supplier performance measures, conducting regular reviews focused on achieving “service performance and deal delivery”.
Provide local market intelligence for assigned portfolio including documented sourcing analyses, supply scenario comparisons and supplier research.
Build strong internal stakeholders and procurement networks to raise Procurement knowledge and awareness, educate clients in the effective use of purchasing tools, techniques and processes
Demonstrate compliance with Procurement Policy and processes.
Actively participate in multi-functional sourcing teams and projects to deliver substantial savings / benefits as agreed with clients
Demonstrate a strong track record of strategic procurement
Partner with clients to provide operational purchasing support, including developing detailed knowledge of client requirements and appropriate sourcing strategies.
Analyze spend patterns across portfolio or category (s) for site and/or country and provide constructive challenge to clients on their spending decisions
Effective usage of E Procurement, spend analysis, contract database and software reporting tools
Detailed knowledge of procurement process & systems
Ability to extract and analyze internal stakeholder’s requirements.
Good knowledge of supply markets and dependent cost drivers.
Good knowledge of procurement policies and procedures and why we have them
Strong background in use of e procurement, SAP, and reporting analytical tools
Business degree, MBA or MSc in Supply Chain Management (preferred)
CIPS (or equivalent) qualified or working toward qualification (will be advantageous)
Strong negotiation and contract management skills
Good interpersonal skills; ability to work in cross functional teams; organization skills
Strong implementation skills
Strong IT skills
Excellent Presentation Skills
5~7 years’ experience of working in a procurement or functional role at least 2 years of which in a category role with stakeholder responsibility. International exposure preferred and experience of working within a global structure is essential.
