Oracle System/Database Administrator, Linux, Shell, SQL, PL/SQL and working with other Linux and Oracle utilities and packages, Secret Clearance
Position Summary: Segue Technologies, Inc. seeks a Database Administrator to provide production and development database administration (DBA) for an Oracle database supporting a business application for the Air Force acquisition community. This is a full-time position located at Randolph Air Force Base, TX. Due to COVID19 work restriction, this position will be remote until further notice. Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Perform system/database administration tasks related to installation, configuration, security hardening, patching and tuning of Linux operating systems and Oracle databases/instances Use existing technologies to include Shell, SQL, PL/SQL and other Linux and Oracle utilities and packages Analyze the data stored in the database and to make recommendations relating to performance and efficiency of that data storage Database design (preliminary) Data modeling and optimization Complete server checks daily, weekly and monthly using checklists Facilitate monitoring of system performance Recommend and upon approval, implement optimization modifications Complete checklist data with reportable information on system up or down times Assist the customer by analyzing and troubleshooting the user’s issues by using Tier 2 or 3 collected troubleshooting techniques Serve as liaison between users and Team Segue on database/software issues Write, test, and validate queries and reports before deployment Maintain system databases, related equipment and associated project enterprise resources Perform database backups, restorations and relocate throughout the environment Develop and implement highly complex database applications to accommodate a wide variety of user needs Analyze and determine informational needs and elements, data relationships and attributes, proposed manipulation, data flow and storage requirements, and data output and reporting capabilities Define logical attributes and inter-relationships and designs data structures to accommodate database production, storage, maintenance, and accessibility Additional tasks as required Required Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT Systems, Software Engineering or another technical field, or related major (Relevant technical experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree) 5+ years of experience as an Oracle System/Database Administrator Experience managing and administering Linux operating systems and Oracle databases/instances Experience programming in the following languages: Shell, SQL, PL/SQL and working with other Linux and Oracle utilities and packages Experience managing and administering web application servers, such as Apache Tomcat Experience administering Oracle in the AWS Cloud Experience administering BIF Technologies Insight server components Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills to solve challenging problems Experience with requirements gathering, scripting, testing and documentation Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervisory direction Active DOD 8570 IAT Level II certification (CompTIA Security + or higher-level certification) Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Clearance Must be a US Citizen Desired Skills: Experience with DoD System Development Experience working with SQL, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Report Definition Language (RDL) and other report code Experience of managing and developing SQL Server, BI Suite, database custom tools using SQL Server Data Tools/Visual Studio 2013-2015 IDE’s Software Development Life Cycle experience Active Secret security clearance Segue Technologies, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
