Record Center Specialists have to kneel, squat, reach, and bend forward frequently throughout their shifts. Their primary tasks include the moving, arranging, lifting and loading of storage boxes, bins and totes. Boxes, bins and totes range in weight from 24lbs 50lbs. Employees move boxes manually and via hand carts.
Protective footwear is required and shall meet ASTM F2413-11 "Standard Specification for Performance Requirements for Protective ( Safety) Toe Cap Footwear” and have a slip-resistant rating designated as "Better or Best”
Job Summary/Work Schedule
Normal Work Schedule: 5 days a week, 9 hours a day including 30-minute lunch and two 15-minute breaks.
Description of position and job requirements: Employees process orders and move boxes of files, books, binders and other materials. The work is very physical requiring the manual lifting, carrying, and moving/arranging of boxes while standing, stooping, crawling, kneeling and twisting. Employees must be able to lift and carry boxes ranging in weight from 24-50lbs on a regular basis, without assistance. Employees must be able to load and safely operate hand trucks and pallet jacks while walking on uneven and concrete surfaces.
- Walk, stand, kneel, squat, stoop and bend for extended periods of time
- Work without assistance in order to grip, lift, push, pull, and carry boxes including up and down inclines, stairs, and over changes in walking surface/elevation
- Read and write English
- Lift and move boxes, read labels, and process incoming and outgoing orders.
- Operate hand held scanner
- Climb and balance on Ladder Carts (not step ladders)
- Lift and carry boxes weighing up to 50 lbs without assistance for prolonged periods
- Employee must be able to load, operate and move hand carts, pallet jacks and various other material handling aids
- Load and shrink wrap pallets at ground level, or on carts
- Load boxes onto pallets and load pallets onto trucks manually and with material handling aids

This position has the responsibility and authority to coordinate the Shipping area to provide timely customer service to those in need of Materials both internally and externally to Medtronic Louisville. Ensure that all packages that are sent to a Customer have been packaged to the designated standards. Ensure the accuracy of Raw Material Inventory by following processes and procedures that have been established. Account for the movement of Raw Material Inventory in a manner compatible with established principles in accounting and manufacturing practices. This position will be able to perform all functions such as shipping, storage of inventories, processing orders as well as perform the delivery functions to Production or other departments. In this position you will also need to have the computer skills to generate reports to support the Distribution and Warehousing activities.
Issue material to support customer need based on required documentation and product availability. Assure parts are packaged and handled correctly. Keep storage area neat, clean and free of debris. Make accurate and timely transactions in the accounting system to reflect a real time flow of goods and effect on the general ledger. Take action on Inventory security and accuracy issues. Act as a backup to the specific functions within the Inventory Department, Receiving, pulling orders, etc. Use objectives and work requirements to meet departmental goals, assign duties to other employees in the department as needed. Be aware of Export compliance rules and regulations. Data entry input into the AES database for SED filing. Interface daily with Customer Operations. Assist in training all new personnel. Assist with attendance reporting if needed by new personnel. Assist in changing departmental processes and procedures. Interface with Import/Export external suppliers on compliance related questions All activities must be performed in compliance with the Quality System. Performs duties in compliance with environmental, health and safety related site rules, policies or governmental regulations. All other duties as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION REQUIRED: High School Diploma or GED.YEARS OF EXPERIENCE 3+ years Inventory control/ Material Handling experience preferably in a manufacturing environment. 2+ years Shipping Experience, some International experience preferred. 1+ years SAP in Inventory Management or warehouse Management.SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED Proficient in the use of PC applications and integrated software. Team oriented, positive attitude. Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Some knowledge of corporate Import and Export compliance policies. Must have good time management skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Some SAP Exposure to Material Master helpful. International shipping experience preferred. AES SAP Forklift
