Job Description

We now have an opportunity for an experienced Accessories Buyer/ Merchandiser (Jewelry, Bags, Sunglasses, watches, softgoods etc) to join our team .

Reporting to the Chief Managing Director,  you will select and develop a range of innovative and relative products that will enable the department to achieve set sales plans, intake margins, planned markdowns and overall gross profit aligned to our customer profile.

This position is based at our upcoming Head Office in New York

This Position May involve Travel: for shows, client meets and Overseas travel too.


  • Handle the overall administration of the business centre.
  • Achieve budgeted sales results, meet gross profit targets and identify growth opportunities
  • Ensure OTB, margins and pricing strategy for department is being achieved
  • Demonstrate an understanding of fashion and accessory trends as they relate to Clients
  • Communicate creative input and innovation for all product development as required, to be first and right on trend
  • Redesign and interpret overseas products and trends in line with brand vision
  • Hire, Build and Manage a small team including an Assistant Buyer and Administration Assistant
  • Build strong internal relationships with the greater Buying team, plus Planning, Marketing, and Visual Merchandising
  • Liaising directly with off-shore suppliers
  • Maintain and develop supplier relationships
  • Review and sign off all fit samples to ensure they meet our quality standards


  • Proven buying or product development experience across Fashion Accessories
  • Proven direct sourcing experience (preferably with China)
  • Proven leadership and mentoring skills
  • Strong organizational skills to manage critical paths and deadlines
  • Entrepreneurial approach to identify the global trends that set Arvino apart in the market
  • Demonstrated ability to build a range from trend boards and trend information relevant for our customer profile.
  • Demonstrated understanding of administration, financial management including assortment planning and OTB management
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with a diverse mix of people
  • Solid understanding of the local and international market place.
